Maintaining Long Distance Friendships

Maintaining long distance friendships can be challenging, but there are several things you can do to keep your friendship strong and healthy, even if you're not physically close to each other:


• Make an effort to stay in touch: Make sure to keep in regular contact with your friend, whether it's through phone calls, video chats, or messaging.


• Plan virtual hangouts: Set aside time to catch up and hang out with your friend over video chat, or plan activities you can do together online.

• Send each other physical gifts or care packages: Receiving something special in the mail can be a great way to show your friend you're thinking of them and strengthen your bond.


• Make plans to visit each other: If possible, plan a trip to visit your friend in person, or have them visit you. This will give you a chance to spend quality time together and strengthen your friendship.


• Be understanding and patient: Long distance friendships can be challenging because you're not able to spend time together as easily as you would if you were in the same location. Be understanding and patient with each other, and try to be flexible when things don't go as planned.


Remember to always communicate openly with your friend and be honest about your feelings. This will help to keep your friendship strong, even when you're apart.
